Hi, Im the real Roxie the Doxie! My breed is dachshund. Dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers, which is why we have long bodies and short legs. We are one of the only breeds who can hunt both above and below ground.

Here is some information about me:

I was born on September 9, 2010 in Arizona and went to foster care when I was 3 years old.

I was adopted on January 30, 2013 and my life has been so much fun since then!

My color is dapple, and my favorite color to wear is red.

My color is called “dapple.” It is a rare color, and I think I am very pretty. Everyone says so too!

I live outside of Nashville, TN with Daisy, Hobie and my mom.

I like to chase squirrels, go on long walks, dig in the yard...

...sleep in the sun or on the couch...

...and most of all to compete in dog events – where I get to win ribbons for finding things using my super good nose. Dachshunds are known for their excellent noses. We can smell all sorts of things, even things that are underground or way far away...

I also like to eat. I love salmon, chicken, and all kinds of vegetables especially baby carrots, broccoli and green beans. Sometimes my Mom gives me watermelon which I go crazy for!

I hope you like my book, Roxie the Doxie Finds Her Forever Home. It’s about my real life adoption from my foster home to my “forever home.” It is a true story!
